One of the great joys of being in Ubud is that a proper massage is never far away. In fact, if you leave here without having at least one, you’ve probably been doing Ubud wrong. Between the rice fields, the temples, and the scooters, your body will eventually start sending polite (or not-so-polite) reminders that it would quite like to be looked after. Luckily, Jalan Bisma and the surrounding area have you covered.

Right on Bisma itself you’ll find Purei Ubud Spa 2 and Purei Ubud Spa 3. Both are convenient, well-run, and consistently recommended by guests who like the idea of walking five minutes from their villa and emerging an hour later feeling human again. They’re solid, reliable choices when you want something close and uncomplicated.

A short five-minute car ride away sits the original Putri Bali Spa. This is the one that keeps getting the strongest reviews. There’s something about the original that still feels a little more special - the atmosphere, the therapists, the overall sense that they’ve been doing this properly for a long time. If you’re happy to grab a GoJet or grab a quick ride, many people say it’s worth the extra few minutes.

Also close by and worth knowing about are Lily Spa, Alona Spa, and Royal Ubud Massage. Each has its own regulars and its own style, so you can match the vibe to whatever your shoulders (or lower back, or neck) are currently complaining about.

The real beauty of Ubud is that good massages are almost as common as good coffee. Whether you want something quick and convenient on Bisma or you’re happy to travel a few minutes for the original Putri Bali experience, you won’t struggle to find skilled hands and a peaceful room.

So book one. Or two. Your future self, floating gently back to the villa afterwards, will thank you.
